The Opportunity:
As a part of our Maintenance Department, we are currently looking for a Shop & Toyota Maintenance Team Lead. The are responsible for leading multiple maintenance related projects as well as some key administrative reports, such as coordinating service and maintaining maintenance records of the Challenger fleet of trailers at Toyota yards. This role is also responsible for organizing execution of the required work and communicating with business unit leaders on accurate repair timelines to ensure their needs and business results are being met.
Key Accountabilities:
Toyota Maintenance
- Monitor the preventative maintenance redistribution effort
- Coordinate implementation projects
- Monitor Challenger out of service equipment at Toyota yards and arrange service as required
- Provide service work to Challenger mobile technicians in Woodstock and Cambridge, including assigning daily repairs, Preventative Maintenance and DOT maintenance
- Coordinate units to be serviced by outside vendors when required
- Track all annuals needed on equipment in Toyota fleet and ensure equipment is set out of service and inspections are scheduled
- Coordinate PDI inspections and special installations on trailers
- Process information related to any equipment in the Toyota pool damaged to receive reimbursement
- Review invoices for accuracy including referencing the work orders
- Complete work orders for mobile technicians including reviewing, closing and approving them
Reporting and Analysis
- Complete daily HKPI report packages for all Challenger shops including a breakdown report, a yard check report, the shift summaries, and HKPI by division, to be distributed to appropriate senior leaders
- Complete weekly reports for Maintenance Manager on outside vendor spend and reefer / heater spend reports
- Complete weekly reports for the Director of Maintenance including HKPI, overtime, and incident reports
- Complete additional ad hoc / daily / weekly / monthly reporting as required
Cambridge Maintenance
- Lead key maintenance projects
- Assist with monitoring the service desk including:
- Answering phones
- Assist walk-in drivers
- Distribute keys
- Adjust status of trucks and trailers
- Coordinate drive-ups
- Create work orders
- Add technician and driver write-ups to the maintenance sheet
- During Maintenance Supervisor's absence:
- Coordinate trucks / trailers to come in and out of the shop for service
- Assist technicians with questions
- Cover administrative duties for the service desk
- Coordinate work for mobile technicians
- Create work orders and purchase orders for outside vendors
- Close and approve shop work orders, including checking the parts and labour billed for accuracy
- Audit invoices as required
- Performs other duties as required
What You Need To Be Successful In This Role:
- Secondary School Diploma required
- 2-3 years of related reporting, administrative and/or project management work experience in maintenance environment
- Intermediate MS Office skills, especially in Excel Strong analytical, decision-making and project management skills
- Detail and deadline oriented, with the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in a busy environment to meet competing deadlines
- Ability to creatively and effectively make improvements, resolve issues and problems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff
- Strong attention to detail
- Intermediate Microsoft Office (including excel), computer and telephone skills
- Possess a fact-finding mindset
- Self-assured and confident
- Possess conflict resolutions skills
- Work well independently
