Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring that all aspects of the build are accounted for. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a solid understanding of project management principles. The Construction Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to deliver high-quality estimates that align with project goals.

Duties

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for HVAC systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration for residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects.
• Analyze blueprints, mechanical drawings, project specifications, and site conditions to determine scope, material take-offs, and labor requirements.
• Estimate the costs of materials, labor, equipment, subcontracted services, and overhead for HVAC installations and retrofits.
• Participate in tendering and bidding processes by reviewing bid documents, preparing proposals, and submitting competitive pricing.
• Communicate with HVAC suppliers, subcontractors, and manufacturers to obtain accurate pricing and lead time estimates.
• Conduct feasibility studies and lifecycle cost analysis of HVAC systems to support project budgeting and decision-making.
• Prepare and maintain budgets, cost monitoring systems, and financial forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field technicians to align estimates with schedules and resources.
• Monitor actual project costs and recommend adjustments to maintain profitability and client expectations.
• Ensure compliance with local codes, safety regulations, and company standards in all cost planning and documentation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and pricing strategies.
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in estimates.
• Effective communication skills to convey complex information clearly to team members and clients.
• Project management experience is a plus, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
