Pharmasave in Truro a part of the MacQuarries Pharmasave Group, is currently recruiting for a full time team member. The successful candidate will be able to get lots of variety as they will supports the overall front store operations of the retail pharmacy, ensuring excellence in customer service, team leadership, merchandising, and operational efficiency. This role is responsible for assisting in the daily management of approximately 40 front store employees and acts as a key leader in the absence of the Front Store Manager. This position does not include any responsibility for the pharmacy dispensary or pharmacy staff.

Key Responsibilities:

- Leadership & People Management:
  • Assist in recruiting, training, scheduling, and coaching front store staff.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages teamwork and high performance which supports our ABC's (Attitude, Behavior, Contribution)
  • Support employee engagement, development, and performance management.
  • Act as a lead contact for staff questions or concerns in the absence of the Front Store Manager.
- Customer Experience:
  • Ensure exceptional customer service is provided by all front store team members.
  • Resolve customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment
- Operational Support:
  • Assist with scheduling, timecard approvals, and ensuring adequate coverage throughout the store.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health & safety standards.
  • Support loss prevention, inventory control, and shrink reduction strategies.
- Merchandising & Sales:
  • Oversee merchandising standards including signage, pricing, and product placement.
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering, and receiving of goods.
  • Monitor sales trends and support promotional campaigns and seasonal changeovers.
- Administrative Duties:
  • Support opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and end-of-day reports.
  • Assist with payroll, HR documentation, and performance tracking as required.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide input into store operations planning.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in retail management or a related field is an asset.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a retail environment, preferably in a pharmacy or grocery setting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a hands-on, problem-solving approach.
  • Comfortable with POS systems, Microsoft Office, and inventory software.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Working Conditions:
  • Fast-paced retail environment.
  • Requires standing for extended periods and lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Occasional need to respond to urgent store needs outside of scheduled hours.
