Job Description

As a Finance Manager at FLINT, you will be a strategic business partner to the operations department. Based out of our Calgary office the role entails managing financial processes, providing analytical insights, and ensuring compliance with financial controls while fostering a culture of financial accountability within the organization.
What would you be doing?

  • Partner with Operations to understand business needs, provide financial insights, and present value-added reporting while maintaining compliance with financial and SOX controls.
  • Lead a team of Project Accountants, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide comprehensive financial support to Operations; oversee month-end cycles, conduct GL analysis, and perform forecast-to-actual variance analysis.
  • Lead the development of forecasts and budgets in alignment with operational objectives.
  • Optimize working capital, manage contract execution, and ensure financial terms are met. Oversee audits and provide financial expertise for proposals and contract negotiations.
  • Support financial, control, and customer audits and address any findings or recommendations.
  • Handle ad hoc financial projects and analysis as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting or related field; an accounting designation, CPA, CMA, CA or CGA required.
  • Proven experience in finance leadership and a deep understanding of financial principles and regulations including SOX compliance. Consulting experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience managing a high-performing finance team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication required.
