BIMM is booming, so we're looking for a Design Researcher to join our team.
As we observe a hybrid model, this role will require you to be in office at BIMM HQ (Distillery District) up to 2 days per week.

Who we're looking for
The Design Researcher is a fundamental part of the design process, with the goal of understanding user needs and behaviour through observed scenarios. Writing test plans, moderating and collecting results, analyzing the results, and converting the data into meaningful product design guidance is critical to the role. The end goal is to help provide sound research based on real users who want to use the product we are trying to build.
This person will be apart of the Experience Design department offering end-to-end product and service design, with in-house practices including: Research, UX, UI, and Content. Working with our Design Research Lead, you will work to develop a framework of reusable research activities and templates for multiple client engagements.
Responsibilities
- Partner with all streams of the digital team (including PO, PM, UX, UI, and Tech) to understand product goals and strategies, and include them where required during test planning.
- Work closely with the Data & Analytics team to inform research and test plans, and define key measurement tactics.
- Closely collaborate with client stakeholders on research plans.
- Lead end-to-end research studies from planning, methodology and discovery to execution and presentation of findings.
- Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative research including moderated user interviews, usability testing, preference testing and surveys.
- Draft screener questions and recruitment criteria based on the needs of the research.
- Provide Product and Design teams with research context, perspective, and recommendations on usability.
- Communicate research findings through unbiased, compelling written reports and client presentations.
- Contribute your research and perspective throughout the entire product sprint cycle, from planning to implementation to post-release.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in design research
- Comfortable using popular testing platforms such as: usertesting.com, userzoom, Optimizely, Appino, etc.
- Comfortable using Figma and Figjam for research synthesis and report design.
- A willingness to learn, take feedback, ask for help, and support teammates.
Nice to have
- Experience working within an agency or consultancy setting.
- Experience working within an Agile delivery framework.
- Experience with the Atlassian Suite: Confluence, Jira.
