Your Role

As a Sous-Chef, you will play a vital role in our kitchen, working closely with our Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of our culinary team. You will be responsible for:

  • Analyzing operating costs and other data to optimize kitchen efficiency
  • Demonstrating new cooking techniques and equipment to the kitchen staff
  • Supervising the activities of specialist chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers

  • Instructing cooks in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food
  • Preparing and cooking complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets
  • Requisitioning food and kitchen supplies as needed

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in a similar role
  • Supervision: Ability to supervise 3-4 kitchen staff, including general cooks
  • Food Specialties: Expertise in fish, seafood, meat, poultry, and game
