Job Class Title: Recreation Programmer

Employment Status: Regular Full Time

Employment Hours: 80 hours bi-weekly (As Scheduled)

Compensation: Current wage rate: $19.33 - $21.32/hour

Probationary period of 480 hours excluding orientation

Required Knowledge / Training

• 2-year Diploma in Therapeutic Recreation from NSCC or equivalent institution.
• Eligible for NSTRA classification as a level 2 programmer.
• At least 3 years recreation experience in a LTC or Community recreation setting.
• Demonstrated Leadership and Administrative abilities with evidenced effective communication skills.
• Regular and consistent attendance is essential.
• Must be a dependable and responsible person who is able to demonstrate and provide empathy and patience when working with residents and able to work well with all levels of staff.
• Must be physically and mentally able to perform job duties with minimum of Supervision.
• Provision of a valid and current Vulnerable Sector Check.
