NBCC is currently seeking dynamic and competent individuals for the position of Custodial Worker I. Our College is committed to transforming lives and communities. Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor as a member of the maintenance team, you are responsible for Typical duties include: mopping, scrubbing, waxing and polishing floors; garbage disposal; cleaning washrooms and replacing supplies; moving heavy furniture and equipment; opening and closing buildings; as well as other related duties. Regular hours of work are based on a 40-hour work week with some day and some night shifts, but hours may be subject to change. Flexibility to move to daytime hours in the summer (July and August) may be possible. Additional overtime and weekend work may be required.

Required qualifications for this opportunity include the completion of high school or GED and a minimum of three (3) months of experience in custodial work.  The successful candidate must possess good communication and interpersonal skills and thrive in a team environment. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive hourly wage for this position ranging from $15.04 - $18.21.This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Canadian Union of Public Employees collective agreement (Operational Services Group) for the College.
