  • Proactively challenge financial crime reporting and data extraction methodologies to identify inherent risks, limitations, and assumptions
  • Assess report design to ensure alignment with intended purpose, regulatory standards, and business requirements
  • Collaborate with report developers, compliance officers, IT teams, and business units to understand reporting requirements and inform validation decisions
  • Prepare detailed validation reports and visualizations to articulate validation scope, approach, and findings to RBC Management, External Regulators, and Internal Audit
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by staying current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging financial crimes methodologies

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • 2-3 years of experience in development and execution of reports using automated tools
  • Strong proficiency in Python, SAS, SQL and Tableau for data mining and analysis
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to articulate complex validation findings to diverse stakeholders
  • Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail with ability to identify data controls, metrics, and compliance gaps
  • Problem-solving mindset with strong planning and execution capabilities to manage multiple validation reviews simultaneously

Nice-to-have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Data Science or related field
  • In-depth knowledge of Financial Crimes regulations (BSA/AML, OFAC, sanctions, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Transaction Monitoring systems, Client Risk Rating methodologies, or Sanction Screening platforms

What's in it for you?

At RBC, we thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper. We care about each other, reaching our potential, making a difference to our communities, and achieving success that is mutual.
