Lead Pole Setter

As part of the Operations team, the Lead Pole Setter is accountable for leading the installation and maintenance of all types of poles, anchors and apparatus grounds for the distribution system, and the preventative and emergency pole replacement and maintenance of poles and anchors on the transmission system.
Key functions include:
• Lead distribution pole setting which includes the operation and oversight of boom trucks, mini excavator, mini dump truck and various types of off-road machines for the construction and maintenance of distribution lines in both energized and de-energized environments.
• Load, provide guidance and/or assist in the loading, transportation and unloading of equipment and materials being moved in compliance with federal and provincial regulations as well as ensure associated documentation is complete and accurate.
• Perform routine inspections, minor repairs and service of the equipment as necessary and maintain the vehicle logbook for all vehicles operated. Assist others with labour related duties when not operating equipment.
The ideal teammate will have:
• Equipment Operator CQ
• Valid Class 1E Drivers License with Airbrake Endorsement
An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
