CANCER PREVENTION AND SUPPORTIVE CARE COORDINATOR

The Department of Health is seeking an individual to join the New Brunswick Cancer Network (NBCN) as a Cancer Prevention and Supportive Care Coordinator, in Fredericton.
As a Cancer Prevention and Supportive Care Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
- Support the development and implementation of initiatives related to prevention and supportive care;
- Collaborate with NBCN team members to advance strategic priorities of NBCN and the Department of Health by leading or contributing to projects aligned with the Government's goal of an integrated health services system in New Brunswick;
- Provide strategic advice and work with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure a unified provincial approach to breast cancer screening services and the Cancer Patient Navigation Program;
- Lead or support public and patient education initiatives, including NBCN's promotion, awareness, and education activities related to cancer screening, prevention, navigation, and palliative care;
- Develop recommendations for consistent support to cancer patients across all stages of care, with a focus on the post-treatment transition to survivorship;
- Support tobacco cessation and other chronic disease prevention initiatives in collaboration with internal and external partners;
- Contribute to the development of patient-centered, well-coordinated cancer control services at the primary care and community level, ensuring alignment with broader cancer care systems;
- Collaborate with NBCN's Palliative and Hospice Coordinator on the ongoing development and implementation of the NB Palliative Care Strategy;
- Represent NBCN on external working and advisory groups as needed;
- Perform various other related duties as required.

Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a health care related discipline.
- Six (6) years of progressive related experience with a patient-centered approach to health care service delivery.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability on your application

In the event that this competition poses difficulties in recruiting a qualified candidate, a covering off appointment at a lower level may be made. In that case, candidates with less than the required related years of experience may also be considered.
Asset Qualifications: Preference may be given to candidates who possess one or more of the following asset qualifications:
- Chronic disease prevention and management; primary care, community and/or ambulatory/specialty clinics;
- Planning and implementing health promotion and disease prevention programming such as tobacco cessation, screening and immunization;
- Experience in project management, alignment and coordination of all aspects of the project, workplan reporting and budgeting.
Candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications, in addition to the essential qualifications, in order to be given further consideration.

Salary: $77,766 to $103,454 per annum (Pay Band 6)
