PAL Aerospace is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Business Analyst to support the FAcT Program and departmental performance initiatives, preferably based in our Ottawa, ON or St. John's, NL offices. The Business Analyst will report to the Program Director and support the Program Manager, Project Managers, and Operations Manager. This role is primarily responsible for designing and implementing data collection frameworks, gathering and validating data, and developing dashboards to monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, business intelligence tools, and performance measurement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Data Analytics

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive data collection framework aligned with program and departmental goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify relevant KPIs and define data requirements.
  • Collect, clean, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Design and populate interactive dashboards and reports using tools such as Excel and Power BI.
  • Monitor data trends and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure data governance and compliance with internal and external data standards.
  • Support ad hoc analysis and reporting needs across the department.
  • Document processes and provide training to end-users on dashboard usage and data interpretation.

Project Management

  • Support monthly programmatic, schedule and financial review presentations with dashboards.
  • Prepare or assist with other project-related documents, presentations or tasks as required by the Program Director, Program Manager, Project Managers and Operations Manager.
  • Conduct GAP analysis on existing and new solutions.
  • Create reports, PowerPoints, and other communication to management as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements Management

  • Document, decompose, manage, and track current business requirements.
  • Document, decompose, manage, and track Project and Program requirements.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and interviews with divisional reps, leading the discussion to gather requirements.
  • Create test plans, test scripts, and work with stakeholders as needed to monitor test execution while assessing, tracking, and managing defects.

Process Management

  • Create and implement process improvement strategy.
  • Develop process models for optimization.
  • Enhance and continually improve performance reporting.
  • Analyze results against trends and benchmarks to find efficiencies and opportunities.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to define and document applicable processes, procedures, etc.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a business analyst or data analyst role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics is preferred.
  • IIBA certification (E or CCBA) or PMI - PBA
  • PMI - CAPM or PMP equivalent considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Strong skills in Excel, and data manipulation.
  • Experience with performance measurement and KPI reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience in an Aviation/Aerospace setting considered an asset.
  • Experience using MS SharePoint, PowerPoint, Visio, and Jama software.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience in process development.

Security Responsibilities:

Incumbent must be eligible for Government Personnel Security Clearance.
