Our client in St. John's, NL is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join their team on a 10-month contract with strong longer-term potential. The successful candidate is self-motivated and a true team player and will be responsible for processing accounts payables and receivables while providing direct reporting support.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:
- Accounts payable
- Accounts receivable
- Account reconciliations
- Reviewing AR aged accounts and coordinating collections
- Coordinating project billing in accordance with rules and regulations
- Assisting with month-end close and financial reporting
- Supporting in the annual audit process
- Other support tasks as required
Experience & Attributes for Success:
- Post-secondary education in Business or Accounting; or equivalent combination of experience, skills & education
- 3 ? 5 years' experience in a similar accounting support role
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles; and a proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Strong computer/technical skills, particularly with MS Office and hands-on experience with Excel spreadsheets
- Reliable and dependable work ethic
- High level of flexibility when working with others and superior interpersonal and relationships building skills
