Overview of the position:
The Senior Manager of Programs is responsible for assisting the research community in research initiatives that will ultimately benefit the people of New Brunswick. Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Senior Manager of Programs is responsible for overseeing all Research Funding Programs and Grants Competitions relevant to the organization including ongoing program development and management; preparation of competition guidelines and related documents; the peer review process; support for the Peer Review Committees; program evaluation; and managing the funding budget.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee competitions for all grant funding programs of the organization.
- Manage applications from the submission stage to peer review, as needed.
- Engage with researchers and oversee the process for submission of all reports, requests, and other such decisions as they relate to funds awarded.
- Supervise comprehensive evaluations, progress reports, and budgets.
- Act as a key liaison and work collaboratively with academia and provincial research institutions to support access to research funding programs.
- Contribute to program evaluation, program design and development of new funding programs that best reflect the needs of the New Brunswick research community.
- Represent the organization at events, deliver presentations, and network with key stakeholders to build long-term relationships that advance research funding in New Brunswick.
- Collaborate with other departments to explore opportunities for innovative funding partnerships and to promote research in New Brunswick across social and digital media platforms.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Our ideal candidate would possess the following combination of skills, abilities, and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a health, sciences, research, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience in or knowledge of health, research, or a related industry would be considered an asset.
- Strong project and task coordination/management skills.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to build lasting relationships with internal and external partners.
- Strategic-thinking skills and innovative and collaborative management style.
- Good leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to deliver impactful presentations and represent the organization at events.
- Bilingualism in French and English an asset
