Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking an Engineer, Industrial Engineering.

ISI/CSC is recruiting an Engineer to work in the Industrial Engineering team. This role will be to execute and make improvements to production procedures, processes, and controls. The Engineer will be expected to execute and demonstrate excellence in elements of the role profiles for all Industrial Engineering work scopes and be interchangeable at any time to align with scope demand.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. Qualifications:

  • Education Required:
    • Recognized Degree in Engineering - Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical or similar
    • Accredited with Engineers Nova Scotia - P.ENG
  • Experience Required: 4-8 years experience in a complex industrial and manufacturing environment
  • Shipbuilding experience considered an asset
  • 4-8 years of work experience leading organization change
  • Demonstrated experience with manufacturing process assessment and development
  • Demonstrated experience of lean six sigma toolsets within a similar workplace setting
  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships both with and among team members
  • Demonstrated experience with manufacturing process assessment and development
  • Willingness to attend change management/'leading change' training certification or have equivalent training or experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in English, both orally and in writing
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Products

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
