Midland Transport Limited has become a leader in the transportation industry by providing superior quality service to our customers. Our services include LTL, T/L, Courier Services, and Third-Party Logistics/ Brokerage which provide the convenience of one-stop shipping.
Midland Transport is currently seeking a Director of Operations for the Ontario Region to help deliver the perfect shipment, on time, incident free, at the best cost and at the best equipment utilization while maintaining and engaged safe work environment. The Director of Operations would be based out of Toronto Terminal. Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations, the selected candidate will be a high-energy self-starter with a strong work ethic and a "Can Do" attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the attainment of; budgeted cost, safety, service, quality and utilization metrics for the transport and courier operations at a regional level.
  • Manage direct reports to achieve or exceed budgeted performance.
  • Accountable for the achievement of employee engagement.
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership characteristics and embrace the Irving Values.
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develop, coach and mentor of direct and indirect reports.
  • Support profitable business growth working with the sales department.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Management
  • 12-15 years' experience in related field, including experience leading teams.
  • Leadership and technical proficiency in various analytics, visualization tools and applications
  • Demonstrated ability to energize, empower and engage individuals & teams to get results.
  • Experience leading teams through change.
  • Experience with project management tools and processes along with the ability to organize and prioritize.
  • Strong skills in management, communication, negotiation, and problem solving.
  • Reputation for effective execution and influence
