Job Description

The Occupational Health Nurse is a trusted advisor that identifies risks and provides healthcare support and advice to our employees. In this role, you'll work alongside our health services team and other internal stakeholders to provide a safe, healthy and productive work environment for our employees.

Your roles and responsibilities:
  • Assess and treat Occupational and Non-Occupational related illness and injuries.
  • Promote optimum health of workforce by providing preventative health services such as immunizations, health profile assessments and health promotion activities.
  • Provide blood collection services and ergonomic assessments to support our workforce.
  • Provide emergency medical response.
  • Work in collaboration with the Joint Health and Safety committee to identify workplace hazards and make suggestions to minimize impacts of such hazards.
  • Maintain confidential employee health records for those that avail of the clinic's services, aligned to all privacy and occupational health acts and standards.
  • Management of all AEDs, First Aid Training and First Aid Kits
  • Perform health surveillance activities including: diabetic testing, blood pressure monitoring, employee medicals, etc.
  • Work in collaboration with our company physician on medical directives and changing trends in the delivery of health care.
  • Provide treatment and assistance for injury and health concerns to promote healing, thereby facilitating productivity in the workforce.
  • Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to provide prompt and appropriate care and return to workplans.
  • Assist in activities and the development of policies and procedures with the aim of reducing and preventing illness and injury.

Professional Skills:
  • Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Requires strong interpersonal skills, collaboration and problem- solving skills.

Education and experience:
  • Nursing degree.Certification in Occupational Health preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience, preferably some ICU, CCU, or Emergency Experience.
