J.D. Irving, Limited, is looking for an experienced leader to join our team in Central New Brunswick as a Senior Civil Engineer. Over the next three years, the Woodlands Division is significantly increasing the volume of products we transport from our forest operation to our mill customers. To meet this challenge, the successful candidate will bring vast project management experience and extensive business connections, specifically in the eastern Canada region. This candidate will play an integral role in achieving the large-scale construction projects of the central New Brunswick region.

Qualifications:

• A civil engineering degree or a civil technician diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution
• Minimum of 15 years' experience managing projects
• A minimum of 15 years' experience constructing and maintaining roads
• Experience mentoring a junior team of engineers would be considered an asset
• Strong organization and communication skills
• Class 5 driver's license
• 5 or more years working locally in the New Brunswick region would be considered an asset
• Experience with Road Eng, or Civil 3D would be considered an asset

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and lead road projects
• Develop a roadmap for strategic road construction that is aligned with our overall transportation strategy
• Develop work plans for large-scale strategic road construction projects
• Conduct and coordinate contractors, consultants, and their activities.
• Work with Junior Project Engineer to support a team of Foresters, Superintendents, and Supervisors
• Carry out cost analysis for all projects
• Act as a mentor for junior members of the team
• Travel between construction sites and regions within central New Brunswick
