Midland Transport is looking for a motivated individual to work as a Financial Analyst based in Dieppe, NB. Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning, the Financial Analyst plays a key role in all aspects of planning and analysis for the division with a focus on delivering value-added business analysis.
Job Requirements:
  • Business Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business or relevant work experience
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Understanding of accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Strong sense of urgency to complete tasks.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Plans and carries out responsibilities with minimal direction.
  • Experience using Alteryx, Tableau and Power BI would be considered an asset.

The main duties/responsibilities of this role include:
  • Prepare / Review period forecasts, quarterly packages, strategic plans and annual budgets
  • Analysis of financial results and identification of business opportunities
  • Providing financial guidance and support to internal departments;
  • Analytical support for capital projects and other key business initiatives
  • Leverage a variety of tools and technologies to deliver valuable analysis to business stakeholders including design of key reporting and dashboards
  • Special projects and ad-hoc analysis as required
