Family & Child Education Anglophone South Inc. provides home developmental support for families with children from birth to eight years of age. Family Educators are responsible for directly interacting with children and their families to support their development needs.

Rate of pay: $60,000.00/Annually to start

Start Date: Immediately


Duties and responsibilities

Key areas of focus include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Directly interacting with children and their families to support their developmental needs

· Collaborate and support the Reflective Supervisor (RS) to support children and families

· Review and deliver service based on FACE AS policies and procedures manual and Agency Service standards

· Case manage and assess client using a variety of assessment tools as outlined in Agency Service Standards

· Identifying the most appropriate intervention for a client - developing individual Family Service Plans (IFSP) that is family-centered, and strength-based

· Assist families in establishing SMART goals and help create a plan to achieve these goals

· Executing the IFSP using family-centered, strength-based intervention and monitor family / child progress

· Reevaluate child and review SMART goals every six (6) months

· Guide families to foster healthy, nurturing relationship and encourage parents / guardians to engage in activities at home and in the community that promote growth and development of their children

· Coach families to problem solve and assume the ability to advocate for themselves and their child

· Prepare referrals to other agencies and be familiar with other community resources and supports providing guidance to services "best fit" to the family's needs

· Work collaboratively with other support workers (daycare workers, teaching assistants, etc.) and community partners to foster achievement of common goals

· Assist with EYE-DA assessments and "Kindergarten Transition" groups as required

· Meet with RS regularly to discuss triumphs / challenges of families and participate in case reviews

· Complete month-end paperwork and provide monthly stats to the RS

· Other work duties as assigned by the RS or ED



Must have a minimum of two-year diploma in early childhood-related studies with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field


a university degree in Education, Social work, Psychology, or related disciplines from a recognized university.

An understanding of family dynamics and the necessity for working within an ecological approach to prevention and intervention that respects and values all participants is a must.

Persons with knowledge of typical and atypical development would be considered strong candidates.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently and understand the collaborative approach with co-workers, families, and other participating professionals.

Must have computer skills at the word processing level or higher

a valid N.B. Driver's License and own transportation.
