Since 2012, we have invested more than $400 million in facilities, people, processes, and technology, making Halifax Shipyard one of the most modern and capable shipyards in North America. Over the next 30 years our shipbuilders will construct 20 modern patrol ships and surface combatants for the Royal Canadian Navy as part of Canada's National Shipbuilding Strategy, the largest defence procurement in Canadian history. This year we delivered the second lead Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ship, the largest Navy ship built in Canada in 50 years and we're just getting started. The third ship will be delivered in 2022.

Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Project Specialist, Supply Chain.

The Project Specialist, Supply Chain will support the Supply Chain Directors and Managers to shape, enable and assist in the delivery of a variety of project deliverables, processes, and tools; and to hone and optimize the supply chain project delivery process. Working as part of the Inbound Logistics Team, this role is aimed to provide support for procurement and materials projects across CSC, AOPS and Ship Repair to encourage collaboration across the entire supply chain group.
Qualifications:

• Education:
  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) considered an asset
• Experience: 5 years' experience in a Project Coordinator, Analyst, and / or Scheduling role in support of a defense contract
• Project coordination experience in maritime ship building/support programs
• Experience in working with a cross functional technical group
• Experience in defining and reporting on project schedules

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support to the Management Group for assigned tasks, activities and deliverables within the Supply Chain Group
• Assist the Inbound Logistic Manager in the day-to-day-logistics and administrative activities associated with the project delivery process
• Assist in the development of plans, processes, presentations, and procedures as required in the execution of project delivery activities
• Analyze data for the Supply Chain group
• Produce metrics highlighting whether milestones are being met, including cost, schedule, and other key performance metrics
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
• Track and support to the development of deliverables, action items and customer comments
