J.D. Irving, Limited is currently seeking a motivated individual for the role of Sawmill Operations Manager at the Sussex Sawmill.
Located in Sussex, New Brunswick, this is a great opportunity to join the organization and make a significant impact. We are looking for a self-motivated leader with a strong sense of initiative and ability to manage change and high performing teams.
Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Sawmill Manager in leading with a business approach to continually improving safety, quality, and production.
• Identifying, developing and leading process improvement projects across various areas of the sawmill using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Performance management of a team of sawmill professionals.
• Data collection and analysis, including analysis of potential and active improvement projects, and measuring savings.
• Promoting continuous improvement through various forms of communications with a diverse group of stakeholders, including internal and external departments.

Qualifications:

• Education Required: Associate Degree or bachelor's degree, preferably in a forestry, technical, or mechanical-related degree program.
• Years of Experience Required:
  • 4-7 years of relevant process improvement experience, or
  • 5-8 years in an industrial setting, or
  • 4-7 years of managerial/supervisory experience.
• Committed to top performance in a safe work environment.
• Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team-based environment with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
• Ability to coordinate work with other internal departments.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, or willingness to obtain.
