Eastward Energy is seeking a well-rounded individual to join our team as an Engineer within the Engineering Group, reporting to the Manager, Engineering & Construction. This role will provide engineering support to the capital plan and the quality assurance programs.

Responsibilities

The Engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • Maintain the hydraulic modeling of the Eastward Energy pipeline network.
  • Engineering planning and design for customer line alterations in compliance with Eastward Energy standards, including preparation of construction drawings, cost estimates, scheduling, and coordination with customers and contractors.
  • Work with field staff to identify maintenance work and implement solutions to ensure system integrity and safety.
  • Perform field audits of construction activities to ensure compliance with Quality Management System.
  • Support to the Procurement team, including material forecasting to meet capital plan requirements, and testing and approval of new products.

Qualifications

The position is based in Dartmouth but may require occasional work throughout the entire Eastward Energy franchise areas. A valid Class 5 Drivers license is required with a clean driver's abstract. 

As a qualified applicant, you have an undergraduate Engineering degree with one to five years of experience; with consideration given to strong candidates right out of university. Previous experience in the natural gas industry would be considered an asset. You have excellence interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to solve problems, think critically and exercise judgment, when multi-tasking and under tight deadlines.
