We are currently seeking applicants for the position of a Project Manager based out of our Head Office in Saint John, NB.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, your duties will include:
  • Managing multi-disciplinary projects from conceptualization stage, through to design development, tender call, and construction, to final commissioning
  • Working closely with client groups to establish project requirements and objectives, and managing the project design and implementation process to assure attainment of the stated objectives
  • Prepare terms of reference for solicitation of proposals and for engagement of design consultants; negotiate terms of contract with design consultants
  • Preparing tender call documents
  • Preparing construction contract documents
  • Monitoring and inspection of construction activities to ensure quality of work and adherence to specified timelines
  • Preparing cost estimates for setting of budgets for contemplated projects, and preparing cost estimates for contemplated changes to existing projects
  • Reviewing invoices and progress claims and making recommendations for payments to contractors or consultants or other vendors
  • Introducing design changes to contractors, negotiation of change order prices, make recommendations for issuance of change orders
  • Chair construction meetings with contractors and generate minutes of meetings
  • Setting up and administering building maintenance contracts and preventive maintenance programs for elements such as fire alarm, fire protection, HVAC, roofs, and back-flow preventor testing for numerous buildings

Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in engineering or construction technology and 5 years minimum training and experience with a track record of success in the management and delivery of multi-discipline (architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, structural) construction projects
  • Ability to read and understand engineering and architectural design drawings
  • Strong analytical skills to apply toward settlement of disputes that may arise with contractors over contractual terms and obligations
  • Strong communication skills - verbal and written
  • Willingness to travel
