City Centre Property Management, for over 30 years, has developed a reputation of building and constructing multi-unit, commercial and residential developments in and around the Greater Halifax area. As we continue to grow, we are now seeking to add a Construction Manager to our team where the successful candidate will be responsible for all the daily tasks involved on a construction site.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Planning, scheduling and controlling activities during the construction phase of the project(s) in conjunction with the supporting team members and trade staff.

Liaise with trades, designers, engineers and clients to ensure projects remain on track with schedules created and met.

Ensure site(s) remains clean, organized and free from debris.

Confirm all site(s) safety protocols are being met and observed by all trades and staff on location.

Anticipate potential issues before they arise in design, material management, site logistics, scheduling, etc.

Oversee commissioning of the project c/w engineering certificates, trade sign offs and municipal building inspections.

Tools or equipment purchased or rented for the project(s) must be secure and inspected regularly for safe and operable use by authorized staff.

Qualifications

Exhibit leadership, project management and problem-solving skills as well as being site proactive.

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, French, Arabic is a definite asset.

Ability to build, maintain and network with site staff, trades and management.

Excel at scheduling and time management for self and staff.

A strong work ethic, a relentless drive to fulfill commitments, and tremendous enthusiasm.

To maintain a positive attitude, create and accomplish tasks, solid work ethic and persistent drive.

Post-secondary education with a focus on engineering and/or construction.

Experience in the industry on an engineering or project management level with 1-3 years' experience.
