Job Description
What you can expect in a typical day:
The Senior Contracts and Procurement Specialist is accountable for developing and implementing construction procurement strategies across multiple business units, leading sourcing initiatives, procuring services and assets and managing supplier contracts, relationships and performance across a variety of business units.

Your Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the project procurement process, including RFx lifecycle, proposal evaluations, negotiation strategies, contract negotiations, execution, and maintenance.
  • Understand and align markets, strategies, priorities and plans.
  • Ability to judge complex situations, identify critical aspects of issues, creatively use data sources, structure complex analyses, think through solutions, develop recommendations and sell to stakeholders.
  • Identify areas for optimization and define best practices across the construction procurement group.
  • Identify external and internal stakeholders and their requirements and engage appropriately in activities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present information to support decision-making.
  • Facilitate internal Total Cost of Ownership reduction initiatives and identify savings opportunities.
  • Implement supply management methodologies, processes, policies and procedures.
  • Understand legal concepts as they pertain to proposals, contracting and executing on existing contracts.
  • Assist with mentoring / learning / coaching with junior and intermediate members of the team.

  • Travel is not a requirement for this position; however, some local travel may be necessary from time to time.

Education and experience:
  • Post-secondary education in business, or equivalent experience.
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation or other similar designation an asset.
  • 10 years of experience in Supply Chain Management.
  • Financial acumen would be considered an asset.
  • Experience working in the oil and gas, construction, heavy equipment industry is a must.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office:Word, Excel, PowerPoint (create, populate, update).
