We are currently recruiting for an Electrical & Instrumentation Planner in our Electrical & Instrumentation Department.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Electrical & Instrumentation Superintendent, the successful candidate will be responsible for scoping, planning and kitting work orders for scheduling in coordination with Operations, the E&I Maintenance Superintendent, E&I Supervisors and Reliability Engineers; including day-to-day and shutdown work. The E&I Planner must properly allocate the maintenance workforce, materials, time, tools, equipment and methods while meeting safety, electrical code, environmental and cost objectives in compliance with Corporate Principles and Guidelines and applicable legislation. The incumbent will also be required to participate in the "On Call" rotation with other members of the maintenance team.
Responsibilities
· Managing new work requested via Operations & the E&I Maintenance Superintendent
· Maintaining & managing the unplanned & planned work order backlog
· Ensuring that correct materials, services and tooling are available to perform the required work
· Working within a cross-functional team
· Project management as required;
· Participate in RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and provide recommendations for long and short-term fixes;
· At times Liaise and supervise external contractor, consultants and tradespersons on installation and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation capital & Maintenance repair projects;
· Must be self-motivated, results oriented, and be flexible to work well under tight schedules in a fast paced multi-disciplinary team environment;
· Recommends improvements to procedure, standards and practices, as part of our continuous improvement;
· Ensure full compliance with the collective agreement and foster sound union-management and employee relations;
· Comply with Health & Safety and environment standards.
Qualifications
· Minimum 2 years post-secondary education with preference given to graduates from a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Program or Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering Technology Diploma. Instrumentation Tech or Red Seal Electrician with Planning Experience also considered.
· Minimum 3 years of electrical experience in industrial manufacturing environment;
- P.Eng certification would be considered as an asset;
- Working Knowledge of ETAP or similar, AutoCAD; and MS Project;
- Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization and leadership skills are essential. (verbal/written);
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office;
- Experience working in a unionized environment;
- Knowledge of Maximo and SAP - definite asset.
- Ability to work as a member of a team with minimal supervision;
- Strong time management, organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills are required;
· Experience with planning systems; annual shutdown;
· Flexible and ability to adapt to changing priorities;
· Past Pulp & Paper Supervisory and/or Managementexperiencewould be considered an asset.
