Partnered with Meridia, RVA is currently seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer to join their growing team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Role Description

As an Intermediate Civil Engineer, you will be an integral part of the engineering team, developing and implementing technical solutions that suit client needs. You will participate in all project phases for a variety of projects, from proposal preparation, feasibility assessment and detailed design, through to tendering, construction, and commissioning.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of preliminary and final designs for Civil related projects, specifically water and wastewater treatment, and infrastructure renewal projects. Experience may also include, but not limited to, stormwater, culverts, watermains, sanitary and storm sewers, and grading projects
  • Preparation and coordination of approvals, tender documents, cost estimating, contract documents, reports including sealing the documents
  • Participation in contract administration services and inspections where required
  • Other duties as required where appropriate for the position

Your Qualifications

As a Professional Civil Engineer, you understand the importance that municipal works and infrastructure bring to a community, and you enjoy working on a wide range of projects. You are a strong team player, enjoy sharing your knowledge with other staff, and have a way of motivating your teammates to produce excellent results together.

Your qualifications include:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • 7-15 years of progressive experience in municipal engineering - consultancy experience preferred
  • Must have a valid P. Eng. designation in the province of Nova Scotia
  • The successful candidate will possess a strong ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and all levels of staff in a collaborative team environment
  • Experience or aptitude for meeting timelines and budgets, proposal writing, client development and other skills appropriate to consulting
  • Proven capabilities in writing reports and other technical documents
  • Demonstrated superior English communication skills, both oral and written
  • Must have a valid driver's license
