Your Contribution
Our Calgary, Alberta office, formally McIntosh Lalani Engineering, is seeking a Team Leader to join our Materials Team in Compaction Testing. Reporting to our director, the Team Leader will be responsible for the overall management and quality of the field compaction testing performed by their team members.
Responsibilities
  • Provide effective leadership, direction and support for members of the team
  • Enhance, develop and mobilize the team of technologists and technicians
  • Determine areas of potential improvement and direct the implementation of change to address these areas
  • Work with project managers to ensure that projects are set up and executed in full compliance with quality standards and regulations
  • Lead team recruitment with HR representatives; resume review, interviews and offers
  • Help manage the training plans and career development of employees
  • Execute the Englobe performance management program and oversee and any required disciplinary review
  • Work with supervisors to ensure technicians are properly trained and supported
  • Build and/or support client relationships at the appropriate level
  • Chair regular communication and meetings for the team
  • Provide the role of Quality Assurance reviewer for field compaction projects and deliverables

Your Profile
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the field of geotechnical engineering and/or construction quality control and compaction testing;
  • Experience in managing projects and a team of technicians;
  • Experience and personal skills to mentor junior staff;
  • University Degree in Civil Engineering and/or College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology;
  • Registered member of APEGA or ASET;
  • Superior communication skills, written and verbal

Qualifications:
