This is a term role for 18 months.

The role

Reporting to the CEO, the Director, Finance & Administration is accountable for providing financial leadership to the Greater Moncton International Airport Authority (GMIAA) to support achieving or exceeding the airport's financial goals and strategic objectives. The Director, Finance & Administration oversees the finance function and all finance-related areas; the role also leads the airport's administrative, IT and HR functions. As part of the airport's senior leadership team, the Director, Finance & Administration works collaboratively to drive financial and operational performance, build an effective airport team, and champion GMIAA both internally and externally.

Finance & Administration Function

  • Supervises, manages, and mentors members of the Finance & Administration team
  • Directs and oversees all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization
  • Retains constant awareness of the company's financial position and acts to prevent problems
  • Takes ownership of current and future forecasts
  • Defines and develops the company's financial strategy and performance and leads the annual business planning process
  • Creates Board reports, presentations, and responses to information requests
  • Manages relationships, audits, reporting, and processes with external partners including external auditor, financial institutions, insurance broker, pension actuary, and Transport Canada

HR and IT Function

  • Provides oversight for the HR function, promoting the development and enhancement of the workplace culture and plays a key role in organizational structure design and succession planning
  • Leads union-related matters including grievances, collective bargaining, and Union-Management Committee activities
  • Ensures employee policies and practices are in place and current
  • Ensures IT systems, hardware, and service contracts to cover off the required IT functions at the airport
  • Ensures cyber security risks are identified and mitigated including the provision of user awareness training

Vantage Liaison

  • Liaises with Vantage teams on an ongoing basis on matters including business planning process, finance, and HR
  • Ensures monthly financial and commercial performance data are reported to Vantage in accordance with required timelines
  • Understands the Management Services Agreement (MSA) between Vantage and the airport authority; partners as appropriate to ensure all contractual obligations are me
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field, an accounting designation and at least 8 years' experience in progressive roles in Finance or Accounting, including 5 years' at the management level
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Track record of successfully managing and motivating teams, both in unionized and non-unionized work environments, including experience leading teams through change
  • Experience and abilities to lead HR or IT functions would be an asset
  • Bilingualism is a strong asset
  • A natural collaborator and team builder who is engaged and committed, with a roll-up-your sleeves approach to challenge
  • Experience in interaction with a board of directors and in matters of board governance an asset

The salary range for this role is $93,000 - $140,000 CAD.
