Job Summary
This position is responsible for overseeing all quality aspects of the quality department within the Woodstock production facility. The Quality Supervisor must ensure all quality standards are met and they must also develop and monitor inspection processes and controls to ensure manufactured products meet drawing specifications through various stages of production. The ideal candidate should be detail oriented and focused on sharing knowledge with others within the department to assist in promoting a better trained workforce. The Quality Supervisor is responsible for the staffing, training, mentoring and development of inspectors within their department. This individual must be a strong communicator with hands-on leadership skills, able to thrive in a fast-paced multi-project environment.
  • Supervise, mentor and support quality team
  • Manage schedule (overtime, vacation, training, etc.)
  • Participate in Quality Assurance teams and implement and monitor improvements as necessary
  • Ensure team strictly follows all plant safety policies and practices
  • Obtain and maintain necessary certifications (ACI, PCI, etc.)
  • Assist in staffing/recruitment process for quality department including interviews and new hire training/mentoring
  • Manage plant calibrations
  • Communicate needs, requirements, and concerns with other departments/plant personnel
  • Maintain an organized and updated workspace including on-site lab/test stations and documentation systems (drawings, reports, quotes, PO's, etc.)
  • Manage sub department inspections and participate in audits (internal and CPCQA)
  • Lead Non-Conformance investigations, participate in NCR meetings for QA department and review results with team and affiliated personnel (site, plant, production, external suppliers, etc.)
  • Participate in Plant Audits
  • Assist with project management functions including review or project details, plans and schedules
  • Participate in Pre-Pour meetings and oversee testing and development of mixes
  • Manage Project ITP's
  • Manage lab samples for concrete mixes
  • Request quotes for quality department needs from suppliers
  • Visit other plants and/or sites as required

Technical Requirements
  • Experience as a Quality Supervisor or Senior Quality Role within the precast/concrete industry
  • ACI and PCI Certification Level 1-2, Level 3 preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (or similar) would be a strong asset
  • Knowledge and experience with CSA A23.1/A23.2
