Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Embrace servant leadership and embody the qualities and mindsets that are associated with Agile methods.
• Guiding, coaching, training with scrum methodologies and assisting our teams in adopting Scrum/Agile principles while driving continual improvement and maturity.
• Deliver training classes as part of coaching for roles including product owners, developers and testers.
• Foster knowledge sharing and assist with creation and delivery of best practices for documentation and training materials.
• Proactively identify impediments and work to resolve them.
• Instill best practices including impact analysis, risk management, cross-team interdependencies, release scheduling, scope definition, story estimation, delivery objectives, quality standards, and user needs identification.
• Facilitate product manager input and team interactions. Ensure the communication of scope and requirements are properly managed.
• Facilitates Release Planning, Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review/Demo and Retrospectives as required.
• Participation in product vision and implementation, discovery, design and other brainstorming sessions.
• Advise on governance changes focused on empowering teams to make decisions autonomously.
• Building a trusting and collaborative work environment across all teams.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Minimum of 3 years + of experience as a Scrum Master.
• Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrates initiative and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent knowledge of Scrum, Lean Agile and Kanban methodology.
• Ability to understand and aggregate product knowledge, including execution of product roadmap.
• Strong emphasis on teamwork and close collaboration with international teams which may be working in different time zones.
• Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
• Awareness and experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, Estimation, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing.
• Ability to work with stakeholders to identify project risks, constraints and dependencies.
• Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
• Knowledge of DevOps methodology preferred.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification preferred.
Complimentary Qualifications:
• Infrastructure project experience (planning and execution)
• Agile coach experience
Desired Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Hands on experience doing software development and DevOps using Agile
• Knowledge of the Atlassian platform (JIRA, Confluence)
• Fluent English; French is an asset
• Eligibility to obtain government security clearance (Enhanced Reliability to Secret Level)
