We are currently seeking applicants for the position of Project Engineer.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Project Engineer will be responsible for capital projects assigned, from conceptual design through to successful commissioning. In addition to capital projects, this position will use their Project Management Certification for overall engineering project coordination and communication to other department stakeholders. This position requires BSc in Engineering, ability to be registered with APEGNB and either are or working towards Professional Engineer and Project Management Certification.

Our ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes initiative, displays complex problem solving and decision-making abilities, has excellent organizational and communication skills and can maintain positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced and changing work environment. The incumbent possesses strong interpersonal skills and has sense of urgency coupled with proven ability to manage staff and build teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety of crew, facilities and equipment;
  • Adherence by employees and contractors, to OGI's policies, procedures, GMP and safety;
  • Meeting with stakeholders to conceptualize project, define scope, budget, and schedule;
  • Identifying, manage and minimalizing project risk (goals, budget, and schedule);
  • Resource planning and ordering equipment and materials;
  • Working and negotiating contracts with partners and vendors;
  • Project status communication to stakeholders;
  • Commissioning and handover to stakeholders;
  • Other duties as may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Recognized Engineering degree by province of New Brunswick;
  • 1 to 4 years' experience within an engineering field;
  • Project Management Certification;
  • Knowledge of processing and packaging equipment, automated control and HVAC systems is an asset;
  • Ability to identify and define goals, priorities, metrics, and levels of success;
  • Strong sense of urgency in meeting deadlines;
  • Ability to handle projects with multiple work streams both independently and as part of a team;
  • Must be able to work in adverse conditions, for example - height, heat, high intensity lighting.
