As an Estate Manager, Tax your responsibilities will include:
• Prepare and review personal tax returns for individuals Canada-wide who have filed for bankruptcy
• Assist with execution, monitoring and efiling of returns
• Manage the team responsible for the intake, scanning, and assembly processes of a large number of client files
• Track the status of files, monitor deadlines and communicate this with the professional team on a timely basis
• Review and update client data using Tax Prep software, Ascend and File Related Documents
• Post tax season review of Notice of Assessments from Canada Revenue Agency - communicate with CRA and/or debtors where necessary
• Prepare adjustments of tax returns where necessary, Monitor funds received from CRA for Disability Tax Credits, prepare and follow up on any Service Complaints sent to CRA.
• Participate in the development and facilitation of internal tax technical training.
• Develop familiarity with tax software and assist with the development of templates, tools and diagnostic checklists etc
• Liaise with other internal teams to coordinate on projects and initiatives of interest to the tax team
• Coach and mentor junior team members

• Ability to speak French is an asset
• Strong knowledge and experience in preparing personal tax returns
• Desire to learn and grow, and being an integral part of a high performing team
• Ability to be an articulate and versatile communicator, both written and verbal
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to execute on deliverables in a face paced and deadline driven environment
• Basic understanding of statutory requirements for Bankruptcy and Insolvency would be an asset
• Proficient Computer/Keyboarding skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and TaxPrep
• Ability to learn various supporting computer programs and/or applications
