The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Training and Development Lead to join our Irving Forest Services team, based in Saint John, New Brunswick.
As the Training and Development Lead for the Pulp and Paper Division, you will be responsible for full scope learning and development initiatives including regulatory, leadership, and operational training. Initially, the focus of this role will be on implementing the Convergence Learning Management System (LMS) for managing training across the Division. Additionally, you will work with Operational departments to determine the best way to get this into the hands of employees for a seamless training experience.
You will work with Operations to build competency maps outlining the functional, technical and leadership skills required for staff positions, and determine the best way to assess competence, obtain and optimize the learnings required. In addition, you will be responsible for working with Operations to ensure an aligned, effective, and efficient operational training process across the Division for hourly operators. You will ensure the process is repeatable, and that it enables training to be completed in a timely manner while ensuring competence.
In addition to using Adobe Captivate to build dynamic training content, you will work with Operations on the development and use of other adult learning methods, such as videos. You will work with the Safety group to ensure regulatory training meets requirements, is consistent, and that records are maintained accurately. This role reports to the Director of Human Resources.

You Have:
  • Education Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 Years' of demonstrated experience in Human Resources, Project Management or Training Development
  • A CPHR designation considered an asset
  • Curious, strategic mindset with the ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Self-starter with a sense of urgency, detail-oriented and good analytical skills
  • Project management skills
  • Experience leading the implementation of an LMS
  • Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written
