Key Assets Nova Scotia (KANS) provides residential care and support services to young people and families with complex needs. Working in partnership with statutory bodies KANS strives to develop and offer a range of creative services for children, youth and families to meet their specific needs and deliver positive outcomes. Summary of Responsibilities:
We are looking for innovative and creative Child and Youth Care Workers to provide care, supervision and support to young people with complex needs. The work is varied and will include relationship building, planning and participating in social and recreational activities, teaching life skills, providing educational supports, and developing and implementing individualized intervention plans.
The successful applicant(s) must be confident, energetic, adaptable, patient, self-aware, physically active, and able to safely intervene in crisis situations. The role requires postsecondary education in Child and Youth Care or a related discipline, experience working with young people with emotional/behavioral difficulties, or equivalent combination of training and experience. Shift work, including weekends, is required.
This position requires a clear Police Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector), and Child Abuse Registry Check. It is also a requirement that the successful candidate(s) holds a valid Driver's License, clear Driver's Abstract, Standard First Aid/CPR certification, and the candidate(s) must submit valid proof of citizenship/residency (ability to work in Canada).
