SCHEDULE AND PLANNING INTEGRATION MANAGER

Since 2012, we have invested more than $400 million in facilities, people, processes, and technology, making Halifax Shipyard one of the most modern and capable shipyards in North America. Over the next 30 years our shipbuilders will construct 20 modern patrol ships and surface combatants for the Royal Canadian Navy as part of Canada's National Shipbuilding Strategy, the largest defence procurement in Canadian history. This year, we delivered the lead Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ship, the largest Navy ship built in Canada in 50 years and we're just getting started. The second ship will be delivered in 2021.

Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Schedule and Planning Integration Manager.
This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. Qualifications:
  • 5 Years' experience in planning & Scheduling in "new build" naval shipbuilding required
  • 5 Years' experience in a leadership role with Configuration Managed Project Integrated Cabling software (CMPIC) required
  • Must have senior experience cable planning on combat ships.
  • Competent in AutoCAD as pertains to CMPIC software
  • Proficient in Scheduling software Primavera P6
  • Must be able to demonstrate a full working knowledge of complete ship electrical plan including critical systems and milestones
  • Understand monitoring and reporting of electrical planning in support of production and commissioning total schedules.

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design for Build / Transition to Build schedule suppor t
    • DFB Schedule maintenance
    • TTB Schedule creation and maintenance
    • Liaise with the scheduling department to align schedules to the IMS
    • Liaise with project department to align schedules to EVM
  • Test Production Module
    • Support the SOW creation with the PM Function
    • Support the schedule creation and maintenance
    • Support the Project Manager
  • Design For Build Support
    • Support all aspects of management and leadership efforts when assigned
  • Electrical planning responsibilities (2022 )
    • Lead and develop a complete ship electrical work schedule
    • Create cable pull plans ensuring that all cable segregation requirements are adhered too
    • Create cable termination and system set to work plans in support of Test & Trials
    • Liaise with Design and production engineering to ensure that vessel electrical systems information is current.
    • Ensure that all electrical data is configured and controlled through CMPIC.
    • Create lessons learned sessions with electrical planners for current and future projects.
    • Provide expert guidance during the combat ship design to build process
    • Other related duties as assigned
    • Create the statement of work (SOW) for CSC Electrical planning
