Vice President, Information Technology
About the Position
The Vice President of Information Technology defines, executes, and monitors the IT strategic plan, and leverages solutions to drive business results. Reporting to the President & CEO, the VP of IT leads teams who support the development, implementation, and maintenance of ANBL and CNB's information systems and processes for the head office and retail centres around the province. This newly created and highly influential role will act as a change agent to champion IT throughout the organization and help it understand the value, power, and potential of technology in the business. Additional responsibilities include:
- Assessing and communicating risks associated with IT investments
- Evaluating technologies and guiding product roadmaps
- Setting short, medium, and long-term goals for the department
- Developing and monitoring annual operating and capital budgets
- Negotiating SLAs with customers, service providers, and vendors
- Ensuring compliance with industry regulations
- Building, coaching, and leading a high-performing and engaged department
Who are you?
You have the reputation for "getting things done", with a focus on improving IT quality, accuracy, and efficiency. You bring a breadth of experience across all IT functions, including operations, security, infrastructure, architecture, and support, and understand best practices in risk management, auditing, and managed services. Ideally, you have familiarity with Agile, ITIL, and Lean Six Sigma, and possess relevant industry certifications (e.g. PMP). You are adept at translating business needs into technical requirements and solving complex business problems with sound technical solutions.

As a leader, you are a role model who manages, motivates, and coaches your teams to achieve their goals, while promoting their contributions as technical professionals and highlighting their value across the organization. You can easily work across multiple departments to drive results, as you develop the vision, set goals, and establish accountability.
Your Business Leadership
Our use of IT is evolving, and you are regularly consulted to provide expertise and generate solutions. Ensuring the department keeps current with emerging technologies, you and your team will be accountable for the development of roadmaps and recommend business directions to leverage these tools. You will advocate and communicate the value of IT to all levels of the organization, and help the company realize the full potential of its investments. During projects, you and your team will liaison between the technical teams and the business to provide a high-level view and regular updates at various levels within the organization.
Your Technical Leadership
You are responsible for ensuring the development and execution of the architectural vision for all IT systems, from small upgrades through major IT architecture projects. Using your project management background, you will provide technical direction to projects, and approve, prioritize, and control projects as they relate to the selection, acquisition, development, installation, and maintenance of information systems and capital infrastructure. Furthermore, you will develop strategies to integrate new and existing technology into the environment to enhance your colleagues' and our customers' experience.
- Reporting into the ANBL Retail Operations Centre in Fredericton, New Brunswick
