About the job

The Official Languages Services Coordinator administers and supports the official languages needs of the NBMFRC and community. This position is responsible for the coordination of all second language learning, translation of NBMFRC materials, program coordination and supports welcome, information and referral initiatives. The Official Languages Services Coordinator will engage and support the unique needs of the Francophone Community and enhance resources for Francophones. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and a benefits package.

Languages: Written and spoken competencies in English and French essential
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week (flexible to accommodate workload)
Screening required: Enhanced Reliability Screening
Salary and benefits: $40,215 to $45,481 plus benefits (based on qualifications and experience)


  • Excellent communication skills in both official languages is mandatory;
  • Proven translation experience or translation certificate is preferred;
  • Presentation and public speaking skills/experience;
  • Facilitation and program coordination experience;
  • Responsible to adherence to budgetary spending guidelines within approved budgets;
  • Effective use of time management techniques;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office; and
  • Direct experience working with Canadian Armed Forces communities, families, and organizations a strong asset.
