With offices in both Fredericton and Saint John, it is responsible for the administration and enforcement of provincial legislation regulating mortgage brokers, payday lenders, real estate, securities, insurance, pensions, credit unions, trust and loan companies, co-operatives, and a wide range of consumer legislation. FCNB is an independent Crown corporation funded by the regulatory fees and assessments paid by its regulated sectors.

Digital Marketing and Communications Officer (contract)

Do you like words, have a strong aptitude for thinking creatively about business topics and like working in a dynamic team environment? Do you have mad skills in creating engaging digital content? Do you have a penchant for talking to the public? If so, we are looking for you to fill a 12-month term position at FCNB.

You will be part of a professional communications team that supports FCNB's regulatory functions and its outreach and education efforts. Because FCNB has a broad mandate with complex communication needs, you should have a strong interest in public outreach and digital marketing, a proven ability to manage projects with competing priorities and tight timelines, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a small and diverse team that delivers on a broad organizational mandate. Reporting directly to the Senior Communications Officer, your responsibilities include:

  • Social Media: Social media content development, studying and reporting on the analytics and providing recommendations on tactics. Support the development and creation of digital projects within the organization as required (includes videos, webinars and web content)
  • Media: Drafting news releases, working with subject matter experts to develop key messages, preparing subject matter experts to handle media calls, building and managing relationships with media
  • Editorial Content Development: Working with our teams to develop editorial content for our initiatives such as key messages, brochures, website content and guides
  • Public Outreach: Planning and participating in FCNB outreach efforts on topics that will help further the brand of FCNB and the financial wellness of New Brunswickers

Qualifications include:

  • Post-secondary degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or a related field with a minimum of 3 year's experience;
  • Superior organization and event planning capabilities;
  • Proven project management skills;
  • Strong public speaking/presentation abilities;
  • Fluency in English and French would be an asset;
  • Excellent computer skills including posting content to websites;
  • Working knowledge of publishing software and Hootsuite;
  • Ability to work scheduled weekends
  • Ability to travel independently throughout the province
