The award-winning ASD Advisory Services team represents a deliberate effort to deliver evidence-based decision-making, relentless curiosity, innovative solutions, and collaboration with creative minds inside and outside of the public service. With a mandate to challenge conventional program delivery practices, the team helps its client departments identify opportunities, evaluate delivery models, complete due diligence on major expenditure decisions, and explore revenue generation opportunities. Since its formation in 2015, the team has been involved in over 150 initiatives and is delivering significant value-for-money and enhanced services to the citizens of New Brunswick in subject areas such as health services, economic development, organizational design, cannabis, infrastructure, public safety, early learning and child care, and senior care. The team was recently honoured with the silver IPAC Award for Innovative Management from the Institute of Public Administration of Canada, which recognizes government organizations that have shown exceptional innovations that address the wide variety of issues facing society.

The team is seeking to create a list of qualified candidates that are skilled, agile, outcomes-focused, highly-motivated, and positive-thinking. The Senior Advisor is responsible for client engagement, identifying opportunities, research and analysis, project management, group facilitation, business case development, and report writing. The Senior Advisor will engage and facilitate internal and external stakeholders to strategically, effectively and efficiently inform Government's decision-making process for program transformations and large-scale project investments. 

Senior Advisors work on complex issues that require agility and adaptability. You will be tasked with finding the best ways to provide value-for-money for taxpayers, and you will have few typical days.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor degree with a minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience.

Subject to the response to this competition, an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.

Some positions require written and spoken competence in English only, while others may require written and spoken competence in English and French. Please state your language capability and ensure that preferred language for assessment is identified on your resume. 

Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration. 


Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate experience and/or certification in one or more of the following:

  • Accounting or finance designations 
  • Report writing
  • Project management
  • Management consulting

Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

Salary: $78,728 to $95,238 per annum
