THE CITY OF CAMPBELLTON
It is one of eight New Brunswick municipalities that hold city status. Bordering Quebec, it is located on the north shore of the famous Restigouche River and Chaleur Bay. As a regional service centre, the City of Campbellton maintains close ties with the surrounding villages and municipalities, thus constituting a pool of more than 25,000 inhabitants regularly visiting its territory and taking advantage of its services. Campbellton is made up of a population of almost 7000 and has an annual operation budget of approximately $14 million and hires between 50 to 80 employees.
Services are managed by a team of executives dedicated in providing high-quality services, fostering social, cultural, environmental and economic development in their community, and aim to maintain and enhance the high quality of life for its residents.
THE MEMORIAL REGIONAL CIVIC CENTRE
Symbol of unity and pride, the Memorial Regional Civic Center is an authentic event and sports centre of supra-regional scope. Thanks to its geographical positioning and its unique characteristics. It serves both the surrounding communities as well as high-calibre events. The Memorial Regional Civic Center is a UNIQUE CENTRAL HUB serving more than 25,000 regional residents of all ages uses, including major events and elite athletes from eastern Gaspésie and Atlantic appreciate.
THE GENERAL MANAGER
This challenging opportunity is available for an exceptional, self-motivated individual visionary and who is well-known for their engaging, innovative, strategic and collaborative leadership style to lead the Memorial Regional Civic Center complex toward its transformation.
The GM will focus on priority areas which are instrumental to initiates a shift of transformation and to work on ahieving the expected results.
You will spearhead the organization's mission and strategic direction in accordance with the applicable plan, policies, practices and agreements.
You are a trusted advisor with superior interpersonal skills, a great communicator with a strong public presence combined with tact and diplomacy.
As a member of the senior leadership team reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and working in partnership with other senior leaders, you will shape and implement innovative and creative avenues for its development, to maintain its transformation while ensuring its sustainability. With your leadership skills, management finance & business expertise and communication skills, you will ensure that the Memorial Regional Civic Center accomplish its mission.
The future GM must have the necessary credibility and drive to lead and engage experienced managers and employees. The candidate must preferably be fluent in English & French, and have a graduate degree in a related discipline, or the equivalent in education and experience.
