We currently have a full-time opportunity for a Senior Applications Specialist to join our Technology team based out of our offices in Stellarton, NS; Dartmouth, NS; Calgary, AB; or Mississauga, ON.
Job Description
What you'll get to do in this fast-paced role:
Work with the vendor to schedule product releases and manage the requests for changes, enhancements and fixes
Validate pre-release testing with the vendor to ensure functionality will meet end user requirements prior to release to Sobeys
Manage configuration and application settings
Monitor performance and operational parameters of the application suite(s) in order to meet the Operational Service Levels of the application(s)
Understand the integration and end-to-end business process, in order to problem solve integration points and dependencies with other systems
Ensure the documentation of the application process and usage and recovery procedures are completed and communicated to internal teams and vendors
Maintain the service level and sustainability of the application by reviewing all changes with the appropriate resources to ensure standards are met
Contribute to projects that impact the assigned application suite(s) to help the project teams to understand the business impact and integration with other systems
As applicable, support the strategic direction of the assigned application(s) by working with business terms to define the business needs
Lead support teams to ensure application(s) needs are covered and perform appropriate training as required
Review and provide feedback on designs and technical documentation as it relates to the application(s)
Participate in/coordinate application testing of updates and new product releases
Provide direction on the implementation of the product updates/releases in the Sobeys environments
Be available for after hours work to assist with production issues as required and/or participate in on-call rotations
Job Requirements
What your resume will include and demonstrate to us:
Post-Secondary degree in Computer Science or Engineering
Minimum 5+ years relevant store-level experience with retail store systems (Sobeys systems experience preferred)
Application specific knowledge with ACS Point of Sale, Work Force Management (WFM), Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO), and Fresh Item Management (FIM).
Experience with problem solving/trouble shooting and issue resolution
Knowledge and experience in store policies and procedures (i.e. front end procedures)
Strong written and oral communication skills
Highly self-motivated and self-directed
Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly
Good analytical and problem solving abilities
Proficient in MS Office
* Able to understand store system configurations, Release-Candidate Upgrades and Parameter changes
Previous experience in conducting user acceptance testing is preferred
