Reporting to the President and CEO, the Vice President Clinical Services is ultimately responsible and accountable for all programs and services within the assigned portfolio of clinical services including but not limited to: Cancer Care, Children's and Women's Health, Emergency Services and Ambulatory Care. Additional programs of responsibility will be identified throughout the recruitment process. The Vice President will provide leadership, vision, and direction on strategic and operational issues, ensuring optimum efficiency and effectiveness, while supporting the overall standards, policies and direction of Eastern Health. Bringing to the organization a solid business acumen, outstanding communication and problem solving skills to this critical role, the Vice President is a respected leader who understands the regional dynamics and requirements of Eastern Health and collaborates and interacts positively in partnerships with the Board and all internal and external stakeholders locally, provincially and nationally.
Formal post-secondary education in a clinical discipline with completion of a Master's level Degree in a Health Related field, from a recognized/approved educational institution is required. CHE designation would be an asset.
Significant senior management experience in a healthcare organization environment within a clinical portfolio as well as financial, budgetary and people management leadership. An understanding of the current trends and changes within the healthcare industry, regulatory and accreditation standards of clinical practice, and provincial and national organizations in the health information space would be required. An appreciation of the regional dynamics and requirements of Eastern Health and the other regional health authorities within the province would be an asset.
