Procurement Co-op Student

This Procurement co-op position will be an opportunity to support McCain's efforts to be a best in class buyer of materials and services for use in the manufacture of food products.The person in this role will have the opportunity to learn key procurement skills and systems.
This position will be a Full-time 8-month position from January 2020 to August 2020.
Working directly with a coach for the length of this co-op assignment, the student will learn and demonstrate procurement skills including:

  • Strategic sourcing
  • Supplier and industry analysis
  • Project management
  • Supplier relationship management
  • Materials management
  • Procurement tools (i.e. SAP and Ariba)
  • The co-op student will work hand in hand with buyers and/or procurement specialists to deliver sourcing projects and materials management activities that support supply chain efficiency and cost savings efforts. We are seeking people that can demonstrate the following:

  • Requirements:
    Academic:In pursuit of a 4-year bachelor's degree
    Related Work Experience (Internal to the organization or external):Prior business experience is nice to have but not required.
    Core Accountabilities/Outcomes:
    1. Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders on a few key sourcing projects and/or materials management activities during the length of the co-op term.Project details and success criteria will be clearly reviewed with the coach.
    2. Execute work under the coaching of a direct manager.Examples of work could include industry and supplier analysis, cost savings, supplier relationship management and/or materials management.
    3. Participate in Procurement Academy (training) sessions scheduled during the term of the co-op.
    4. A mid-point and end of co-op term presentation will be expected.

    Skills Desired
  • Basic Computer Skills - Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and willingness to learn business systems including SAP
