Discover Halifax is the regional destination marketing organization responsible for overseeing the growth of the visitation economy in Halifax, Nova Scotia. On behalf of our client, we are currently recruiting for a Senior Graphic Designer to join their team of dedicated professionals in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Reporting to the VP, Marketing & Visitor Experience, the Senior Graphic Designer will be responsible for designing, producing and overseeing digital and print creative to address company-wide marketing, sales and corporate projects and campaign needs. The Senior Graphic Designer will lead all assigned design projects from conception to delivery, while maintaining brand standards and visual consistency through all projects. They will liaise with internal teams and the creative agency of record to ensure deadlines are met, review outsourced work to ensure quality of work and consistent brand standards, and refine all digital and print assets. The successful candidate will also generate new ideas and design original pieces (including illustrations and graphics) to support various initiatives, while staying up to date with the latest industry standards, changes, trends and tools.

As the ideal candidate, you are an organized and deadline driven individual, possessing a minimum of 5 to 8 years' proven work experience designing and managing projects as a Graphic Designer, Creative Designer, or similar capacity. Strong aesthetic skills with the ability to combine various colors, fonts and layouts, as well as proficiency in design software and tools, including Adobe Creative Suite, will be key to success in the role. Robust copywriting, User Experience design skills/ IA + taxonomy experience, and/or video production, editing and motion graphics skills are preferred. With strong professional communication and interpersonal skills, you possess strong business acumen and are highly analytical by nature. A degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution in Design, Graphic Design, Visual Arts or relevant field is required.
