What you can expect in a typical day:
We have an exciting opportunity for a team player with strong negotiation skills for a Centralized Acquisition Sales Representative. This individual will be responsible to drive sales growth within our commercial customer network. This individual will assist in developing strategies to improve gross margins, volume growth and increase product penetration in their assigned territory. The primary focus will be cold calling into small & medium businesses to create new customers and opportunities. The key priorities for this role will include a focus on sales, territory development, lead generation, customer activations and early customer cycle support.
What you'll need to succeed:
  • Develop an understanding of an assigned territory that includes opportunities for growth, product penetration, competitors and alternative fuels
  • Develop territory objectives to drive achievement of portfolio management goals and targets
  • Work collaboratively with sales leadership to execute marketing programs that drive achievement of sales targets
  • Able to follow a defined sales process to spot, create and track leads and respond in a short time frame.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers and Sales Support Representatives within all channels and across other business lines
  • Generate enough leads and opportunities within your region to achieve sales targets
  • Keep sales pipeline current with only those leads and opportunities that are progressing to commitment
  • Maintain customer relationship with new customers until the customer has activated or taken first order
  • Monitor activated accounts to ensure volume and gm is fully realized as committed to on the opportunity
  • Discover and capture all pertinent customer information within the customer relationship tool, including conversation notes.
  • Understand complex opportunities and submit complex deals for approval as required
  • Collaborate with account manager to transition new customer to the account management team
  • Communicate internally with key stakeholders and groups to ensure a great customer experience

Travel
  • Occasional travel may be required to your region to understand trends and meet customers.

Education and experience
  • Bilingualism (French/English) would be an asset
  • 1-3 years of experience in sales/marketing and customer service required
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills
  • On the spot decision making
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Previous experience with Customer Relationship Management tools (such as Salesforce) considered an asset.
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
