Maintenance Scheduler

The Maintenance Scheduler is responsible for ensuring company tractors and trailers are maintained to ensure effective asset utilization. This role is accountable for coordinating Operations Staff, drivers and vendors to achieve preventive maintenance compliance. The role reports to the Director of Asset Management, P.Eng. The role is a key member in a team of nine. The Asset Management Team provides support to approximately 1500 pieces of mobile equipment for the operations team and works closely with Safety, HR and Finance groups. This role will require travel within the Eastern Provinces 15% of the time.
    Generate maintenance purchase order, Schedule tractors & trailers for vendor maintenance, Validate and follow up on estimates with suppliers, Work directly in our vendor location(s) to ensure optimal tractor and trailer availability, Provide customer service to internal customers through prompt responses to phone/email requests, Coordinate preventive maintenance compliance with operations staff, Coordinate phone calls/emails with drivers, operations and vendors for lower severity unplanned maintenance, Ensure adherence to daily/weekly budget when scheduling shop work and assist in yearly budgeting, Administer and enhance the fleet technology implementation program, Administer and enhance the vendor management program, Other duties as required to promote cross training and continuous improvement to support the team.

    Postsecondary education, Mechanical profession or trade considered an asset, 2-5 years work experience or the equivalent in training, Transportation/Logistics experience considered an asset, Licensed truck and (or) trailer mechanic considered an asset, Bilingualism considered an asset.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    Computer software skills are essential; experience working with ERP systems considered an asset, Superior organizational, decision-making and problem-solving abilities, Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, Effective oral and written communication skills, Team-oriented and results-driven, Ability to work with minimal supervision, Must be committed to quality, safety, and service.
