Established in 2018, Zwicker Zareski Architecture + Planning (ZZap) integrates into property owners' and developers' operations as a strategic design partner during early site conceptualization to optimize development potential and design quality for Urban and Suburban sites. With over 40 years of combined industry experience, ZZap's founders believe that the fusion of architecture and planning that listens to 'the place' and builds consensus through authentic and meaningful engagement results in distinct projects that are embraced by the communities they serve. Quickly building a reputation as a primary integrated firm in Atlantic Canada for planning, land development, real estate development and building design, ZZap is currently looking to grow their team by adding a licensed Architect to their office in downtown Dartmouth, NS.

As an Architect with ZZap, you will create designs for a variety of projects including new construction, renovations, heritage restorations as well as mixed-use commercial projects. You will produce design and detailed drawings through Revit and AutoCAD yourself as well as oversee production work of design staff including leading production meetings to coordinate drawings and resources, determine project criteria and provide deadlines throughout all phases of projects. You will also be responsible for coordinating with contractors, sub-consultants or relevant building authorities to address and document issues with constructability or owner concerns.

As the ideal candidate, you hold a graduate degree in Architecture and have at least 5 years working experience as a licensed Architect. You are someone who can apply strong organizational and task management skills, and ultimately work independently to prioritize, manage multiple projects and lead a team to meet project deadlines. You are passionate about the details and methodologies of how a building goes together, using your specialized construction knowledge to design buildings that are functional, safe, accessible, sustainable and beautiful.

By joining the ZZap team you will be part of a fun, transparent and entrepreneurial organization that focuses on results and not a clock. You will be given the autonomy and resources needed to be successful and create the best results for your clients. This is an opportunity to work on exciting and creative projects that will shape a city for years to come, as well as an opportunity to have input on business decisions that will directly impact continuing to build the culture and revenue of the organization. In return for the skillset and expertise you bring you will be given a competitive compensation and benefits package.
