What you can expect in a typical day:
The Environmental Health & Safety Project Coordinator will scope, plan and manage progress for Environmental Health and Safety projects while engaging with the appropriate stakeholders and business representatives. Projects will focus on enhancing management processes and practices through continuous improvement. The project coordinator role will also focus on preparing communications. This role will report to the SMO Environmental Health and Safety Director. The successful candidate will work closely with all operations teams as well as throughout the business as required. The Project coordinator will scope, plan and manage progress and engage with the appropriate stakeholders and business representatives.
 
What you'll need to succeed:
  • Maintaining and monitoring project plans and project schedules
  • Organizing, attending and participating in stakeholder meetings
  • Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings
  • Preparing necessary presentation materials for meetings
  • Ensuring project deadlines are met
  • Determining project changes
  • Providing administrative support as needed
  • Undertaking project tasks as required
  • Ensuring projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project
  • Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable
  • Create a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective

Travel
  • Travel within Canada and the United States required.

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary education in business or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience working in EHS related role an asset.
  • 2+ years of high level administrative support.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate within the organization at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines as required
  • Strong computer skills specifically using the Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge file management and other administrative procedures
